born in Pireaus, Greece in 1958. spent early life traveling around Europe, the Middle East and Asia. returned to Utah, where his ancestors had settled as Mormon pioneers, and where he learned the bizarre teachings of the Mormon priesthood. no formal art training and over the years has been considered very much an outsider folk artist. influenced by the exposure to the many different cultures of the East and the religious rituals of the American Southwest – both Mormon and Native American. pieces are not typical abstract interior designs. intend to provoke thought, humor, and intelligence. created a a cache of symbols to represent specific psychological and religious ideas which remain constant within all his works.
